How to get Twilio credentials
The following provides a brief overview of the steps to open a Twilio account, setup Twilio Verify and get the credentials needed for the plugin. This overview is provided for convenience only. PayThem cannot provide any further assistance or technical support related to Twilio accounts.
Twilio Credentials Needed For PayThem’s Verify 2FA Plugin
Three credentials are required by the Verify 2FA plugin.
- Twilio Account SID
- Twilio Auth Token
- Verify Service ID
If you do not already have a Twilio account, Click here to start.
Twilio Account SID and Auth Token
- Click on the Account menu item.
- Account SID will be exposed. Copy the Account SID and save it.
- Click on the view icon to copy and save the Auth Token.
Verify Service
- Under the Verify menu item, navigate to Services.
- Create a new Service if required. The service must be SMS/Text enabled and optionally also WhatsApp enabled (requires number).
- Once a service has been successfully created, the Service SID will become visible. Save the Verify Service ID.
WhatsApp OTPs (optional)
Read the official Twilio WhatsApp Signup Document for details. To send OTP’s via WhatsApp, a mobile number needs to be associated with a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and then selected for use within the Verify Services created on Twilio.
