What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The mobile number is forwarded to miniOrange (https://www.miniorange.com) who send a One Time Passcode (OTP) to the mobile number, which is required to complete the registration process. The email address is used to send a One Time Passcode (OTP) to the user, which is required to login.

For users who do not have an account with PayThem.net, the email address is forwarded to miniOrange (https://www.miniorange.com) who send a One Time Passcode (OTP) to the user, which is required to verify the email address and complete the transaction.

For users who do not have an account with PayThem.net, personal information is accessible and editable by you at any time via the “My Account” link on the website.

You may close your account and this information may be deleted at any time if no transactions have been completed on the PayThem.net website. If a transaction has been completed, the account may be closed at any time, but details required for record keeping purposes may be retained for up to five years after an account has been closed.

Credit Card Details Form

The Credit Card Details Form is not actually part of the PayThem.net website. It is a Commercial Bank Qatar (http://www.cbq.qa) secure credit card processing form which you are seeing. Therefore, your credit card information is captured directly into the bank’s system. Your credit card information is not stored by PayThem.net.

PayThem.net shares your Personal Information with Commercial Bank Qatar (http://www.cbq.qa) when you make payment with a credit card on our website and Commercial Bank Qatar shares the last 4 digits of your credit card number and the expiry date of your credit card with PayThem.net (Bank Response) in order to resolve any queries related to the transaction. Please refer to the Commercial Bank Qatar privacy policy for details.

PayThem.net shares your Personal Information and Bank Response with FraudLabs Pro (https://www.fraudlabspro.com/) in order to reduce the risk to PayThem.net and the credit card holder of fraudulent transactions. Please refer to FraudLabs Pro privacy policy for details.

Order details (including Personal Information and the Bank Response) may be stored by PayThem.net for up to five years after the transaction.

Main Contact Forms

The Main Contact Form on the website may be used for general queries or transaction related queries. Depending on your selections and requirements, different information may be required. In most cases a Name, Email address, Contact Number and details of the query will be required in order to address the query. This information is stored in a separate database on PayThem.net for up to five years after the form was submitted.

Ticketing Forms

In addition to the Personal Information of the person paying for the tickets, Attendee Names are collected in order to print their names on the tickets. In some cases an email address and/or mobile number will also be collected in order to send the tickets and/or confirmations to that email address or mobile number. PayThem.net generally deletes ticket related information shortly after an event and always within five years of the event. For SMS communications we make use of Twilio (https://www.twilio.com) who store the mobile number and message in line with their privacy policy.

During registration, your mobile number is forwarded to miniOrange (https://www.miniorange.com) who send the One Time Passcode (OTP) required to register. At checkout, for users who have not registered or logged in, the user’s email address is forwarded to miniOrange (https://www.miniorange.com) who send the One Time Passcode (OTP) required to transact.

Credit Card Processor

Your Personal Information (First Name, Last Name, Company Name (optional), Street Address, Town/City, State/Country, Postal/Zip, Country, Phone Number and Email Address) are shared with Commercial Bank Qatar (http://www.cbq.qa) with every transaction. Fraud Prevention Company

FraudLabs Pro (https://www.fraudlabspro.com/) evaluates every transaction for fraudulent activity and received partial Personal Information from PayThem.net in order to fulfil its service. Their privacy policy may be viewed at https://www.fraudlabspro.com/privacy-policy

International SMS Provider

Twilio (https://www.twilio.com) may be used for sending short text messages to ticket buyers/attended, which requires them to receive the mobile number and message from Paythem.net. Their privacy policy may be viewed at https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy

Newsletter Subscriptions

MailChimp (https://mailchimp.com) is used for sending newsletters to users who have subscribed to receive newsletters. Their privacy policy may be viewed at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/. Users can subscribe/unsubscribe at any time.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment on the website, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Personal information is stored by PayThem.net until a registered user terminates his/her account with PayThem.net or five years after the last transaction was completed, whichever is the longest.

PayThem.net makes use of standard and enhanced security measures to protect user information from being viewed by unauthorized persons online.

PayThem.net is hosted on a PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliant server through SiteGround (https://www.siteground.com/) and also makes used of the SiteGround Site Scanner Malware Monitoring service.

PayThem.net makes use secure-socket-layer (SSL) certificate authentication provided by Comodo (https://www.comodo.com/). SSL is encryption technology that provides security for information that’s transmitted over the Internet.

Shield Security (https://www.icontrolwp.com) is used to provide visitor access and session controls. Users are required to provide Two Factor Authentication (2FA) to login, using the One Time Passcode (OTP) sent to the registered email address of the user in order to login. Users who do not logout by themselves will automatically be logged out after a certain time.

Only authorized PayThem.net staff have access to user information and only to the extent required in order to fulfill PayThem’s obligations in delivering the products and or services to the user.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event of a breach being identified, the website will immediately be locked down while the extent of the breach is investigated further. Affected users will be informed as soon as possible, even if it is only suspected that Personal Information may have been obtained. Once the breach has been rectified, the website will be made available again.
